"This way." Auron steps onto a lift.

Yuna follows him, her hands tightly gripped in Lulu and Anri's.

The others follow close behind. Raeli backing up, scanning the space around them, wary, on edge.

In the main room, there is a woman. Clad in mere silks and surrounded by pyreflies, she opens her arms. "Summoners, I welcome you."

Anri squeezes Yuna's hand.

Aten can't seem to keep a coherent form.

"Lady Yunalesca?"

"Yes, my child. You are so brave, so courageous, to make it to my home."

"She isn't wrong," Masquerade says, low and intent. "But that was you, all you."

"Your bravery, your faith, brought you to me. And now you can end Spira's suffering."

"That's all I want. I want to destroy Sin."

"And you will, my dear. All it takes is one, last, cost."

Aten is trying so hard not to let his fear seep through the bond. This is Yuna's choice, no matter how much he wants her to runrunrun.

"And you have brought my son to me, thank you, thank you!"

"Your...son? Lady Yunalesca, we did not even know you lived!"

"I had to keep myself secret, let the summoners discover me. Lest Spira fall to ruin."

She pulls Aten to her.

He flares up, trying to escape.

Yunalesca counters his flares, drawing him ever nearer.

"He doesn't want to!" Yuna yells, her hands reaching for the aeon.

He doesn't know how to fight this, he never could-

Masquerade dives forward, drawing their sword, and lashing out at Yunalesca.

Auron stops Masque. "It's her decision!"

"And my job is to protect Aten."
